Silpheed (MS-DOS)

Probably the most interesting game developed during Sierra's collaboration with legendary Japanese game developer/publisher Game Arts, Silpheed is a clever and technically impressive arcade offering that did quite a few new things with the shoot-'em-up formula. Happily, you can grab a copy of the game via this Silpheed (MS-DOS) eBay auction.

The PC version on offer comes complete in its original box, and everything seems to be in great condition. Oh, and by everything I do mean the 5.25" disks, the manual, the Sierra catalog, a flyer, the box itself, and even the warranty card.

Vectrex 3D Imager & 3D Crazy Coaster

The Vectrex 3D Imager, the proto-VR headset for the Vectrex --essentially an elaborate set of stereoscopic glasses-- is a lovely, exotic, and usually expensive accessory for the vector based console, and one you can bid on via this Vectrex 3D Imager eBay auction. The headset comes in its original box, has been tested and is working, and comes complete with the 3D Minestorm game, but lacks the colour wheel.

What's more, a complete, boxed copy of the 3D Crazy Coaster is also included with this Vectrex 3D Imager. My sources, the only person I know to have actually played this thing that is, tell me it's a pretty impressive piece of software too.

1 Atari 2600 22 Games

The Atari 2600, the first truly mainstream console, is arguably one of the few gaming machines that shaped and defined the history of video games so deeply. It should thus be part of any generalist classic gaming collection, and this (fully working) Atari 2600 eBay auction seems like a fine place to start. The console comes with its cables, one joystick, and 22 working cartridges including such titles as Pitfall!, Adventure, Frogger, Barnstorming, Ms. Pac-Man, and Q-Bert.

The Lurking Horror (MS-DOS)

Despite its flaws, I 've always loved Infocom's horror text adventure The Lurking Horror, and considered it one of my favourite spooky games of all time. Also, the most lavishly boxed genre offering I've ever enjoyed, as the game has indeed gotten the full Infocom treatment. The winner of this The Lurking Horror (MS-DOS) eBay auction is bound to find out this to be true too. The game on offer, you see, does come complete with all the awesome feelies it originally shipped, disk, manuals, and even the Infocom Passport.

Inca (MS-DOS)

Weird, ancient-esque sci-fi, shoot-'em-up like, adventure-lite, stunning thing Inca by Sierra was a unique, impressive, but also truly odd game. I've always loved it, you know, and now so you can you, for this is a lovely looking Inca (MS-DOS) eBay auction, that will let you own a complete, boxed copy of the game. It's the VGA 3.5" inch version of Inca, and it seems to be in excellent condition.

Sealed Super Mario Bros. 3 (NES)

Super Mario Bros. 3 is an excellent and definitive game. A classic. A game everyone loves, and a platformer that defined its genre. It also isn't a particularly difficult NES offering to get a hold of, unless of course you manage to find a sealed, boxed, brand new copy. Like this Super Mario Bros. 3 (NES) currently being auctioned over at eBay. Those are rare.

Casio Loopy SV-100

Released in 1995 exclusively in Japan, the Casio Loopy was an obscure 32-bit console that was almost exclusively marketed to female gamers. It wasn't the best of ideas, it was patronizing, but it also makes for an interesting curio you can bid on via the Casio Loopy eBay auction. The console comes in its original box with manual, cables, controller, etc.

Civilization II (PlayStation)

Can't quite imagine how Civilization II would feel when played with a gamepad on a TV screen, but I'm pretty certain that nothing wrong could ever happen to the game's brilliant, turn-based core. Also, here's an eBay auction for a boxed, PAL, PlayStation version of Civilation II with its manual.
